SENIOR BREWER – TOTTENHAM HALE
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are recruiting for a Senior Brewer to join our Tottenham Hale site!
Reporting into our Lead Brewer, we are looking for someone to ensure our beer is produced to the highest quality at all times and will cover a wide range of tasks from Brewing and cellaring, fermentation and conditioning in line with Quality Control and Production targets.
The Senior Brewer will join our Production team and will act as the main point of contact on the Brewery floor. You will supervise the day to day operation of the Brewery team and assist with maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the brewery at all times.
You will act as an ambassador for Beavertown and be confident working with minimal supervision on the floor. This role will involve managing projects and coordinating on-going training and support with Production team members.
As one of our Senior Brewers you will ensure we are compliant with all SALSA requirements relating to the brewing process. We are looking for someone who has a flexible approach to work, as you will be required to work on a shift system basis, including weekends.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
When needed, carrying out daily brewhouse duties, including:
• Operate on a manual 55hl brewhouse.
• Responsible for all aspects of wort production.
• Mill operation and malt preparation.
• Brewhouse CIPs.• Entering all necessary data into Tanknet/SAP and other relevant programmes.
• Assisting other brewers during shift overlaps.
• Ensuring brewing teams are carrying out their tasks.
• Performing basic quality checks, Phys-Chem checks, yeast counts & yeast viability.
• Ensuring correct use, storage and stock level management of relevant raw materials (malt, hops, yeast, salts, etc).
When needed, carrying out daily brewhouse duties, including:
• Ability to run a centrifuge and HopNik.
• Measuring tank CO2s/DOs – Carbonating beers as required.
• Ensuring beer is in spec for packaging dates.
• Yeasting /hopping off vessels as required.
• Carrying out Yeast counts and viabilities to ensure we have yeast availability for pitching.
• Yeast management. Harvesting yeast. CIP of Yeast tanks.
• Carrying out Vessel cleans (CIPs).
• Transferring beers.
• Monitoring fermentation, ensuring Fermentation profiles are adhered to.
• Performing basic quality checks. Phys-Chem checks, yeast counts & yeast viability.
