American Pale Ale FAQs

It’s called American pale ale because it was created in the United States of America. It was inspired by British pale ale and has since become its own thing in the world of beer-making.

Pale Ales are one of the oldest types of beer. They’re hoppy and easy-to-drink and can have bright, citrus-y notes like Lupuloid or taste more Earthy like Neck Oil. APAs like our OG Gamma Ray use different types of hops which give it a much more pine-y, fruity flavour.

All ales have similar ingredients. They’re all made with hops, malt, and time. But different ales get their different flavours from the different hops and malts they use.

An IPA beer is a hoppy, fruity, citrusy sipper with the perfect amount of bitterness that goes with basically everything. But APAs tend to have fewer bitter notes than a British IPA.

American Pale Ales for those seeking true craft beer flavour. They’re smooth and refreshing but with a little citrus-y, pine-y twist to give your tastebuds a little zap.

Gamma Ray has a bunch of different hops to make it taste as good as it does. Columbus, Bravo, Amarillo, Citra, Calypso, and Mosaic. What does that mean? It’s hard to describe. Why not give it a whirl?

Not all APAs are made equal. They can range from clear to cloudy depending on who makes it. But Beavertown's Gamma Ray is a cloudy APA.
